DeKalb County Schools to Operate on Two-Hour Delay Tuesday

DeKalb County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Tuesday, January 27, as a precaution due to extremely cold temperatures and the potential for icy conditions.

School officials said the delayed start is intended to provide safer travel conditions for students, parents, and staff as temperatures remain low and isolated ice may develop on roadways, bridges, and sidewalks during the early morning hours.

Buses will run two hours later than normal, and school start times will be adjusted accordingly. Officials encourage families to remain alert to local weather conditions and to check for any additional updates.

DeKalb County Schools emphasized that student and staff safety remains the district’s top priority as winter weather continues to impact the region.
