Multiple Drug Trafficking and Distribution Arrests Made in DeKalb County

Over the past several weeks, the DeKalb County Drugs and Major Crimes Unit, along with DeKalb County Deputies, have carried out multiple arrests related to drug trafficking and narcotics distribution throughout the county.

On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, authorities executed a narcotics search warrant on the 4000 block of County Road 429 in Fyffe. The operation resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription pills, a large amount of cash, and two firearms. Bobbi Joe More, 65, of Fyffe, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana (1st), possession of drug paraphernalia, and being an addict in possession of a pistol.

On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, a traffic stop near County Road 141 in the Cartersville community led to the arrest of Damian L. Powell, 41, of Jasper, Tennessee. Powell, who initially refused to exit the vehicle, was found concealing a stolen pistol and had methamphetamine and marijuana in the vehicle. As a convicted violent felon, he faces charges including trafficking methamphetamine, possession of marijuana (2nd), possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a firearm, receiving stolen property (firearm), and tampering with physical evidence.

A narcotics search warrant executed on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at North Pointe Apartments in Fort Payne resulted in the discovery of cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Cephas Dewayne Dotley, 66, and Lillie Bell Chaney, 52, both of Fort Payne, were charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, unlawful possession of marijuana (1st), and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, a traffic stop on County Road 155 in Higdon led to the discovery of fentanyl in a vehicle. Lynn Edward Clements, 61, and Kimberly Annette Stinnett, 56, both of Higdon, were charged with trafficking fentanyl and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Clements was also arrested on failure-to-appear warrants from previous charges.
