TRENTON, GA — The Dade County Health Department will host a special breast cancer awareness event offering free breast exams on Tuesday, October 21, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the department’s office, located at 71 Case Ave., Suite H-100, Trenton.

Women interested in participating are encouraged to schedule an appointment by calling 706-657-4213. In addition to the free clinical exams, attendees can enjoy refreshments and receive gift bags, along with educational materials on breast health and self-exams.

According to local data, 15 Dade County residents lost their lives to breast cancer between 2020 and 2024. As the most common cancer among women, early detection remains key to saving lives.

“We’re committed to making preventive care accessible to everyone,” said Stacy Bradford, nurse manager at the Dade County Health Department. “This event removes financial barriers and empowers women to take charge of their health. Our healthcare professionals will provide clinical breast exams in a supportive, private environment.”

The health department encourages all women—especially those without insurance or who have not had a recent exam—to take advantage of this opportunity for early detection and education.
