FORT PAYNE, Ala. — A Kentucky man has been arrested in connection with Tuesday’s bank robbery in Fort Payne.

Authorities say 62-year-old Mark Loveless, of Somerset, Kentucky, was taken into custody on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. An arrest warrant had been issued earlier that day, charging him with first-degree bank robbery.

According to the Fort Payne Police Department (FPPD), Loveless was located in Pulaski County, Kentucky, and arrested without incident by the FBI in cooperation with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.

“I want to thank our officers for their swift response to the robbery and our investigators for their diligence in resolving this case quickly,” said Fort Payne Police Chief David Davis. “I would also like to extend my gratitude to the FBI Birmingham for their prompt assistance and hard work as well.”

Loveless is currently being held at the Pulaski County Jail, awaiting extradition to Fort Payne. The FPPD noted that he may also face federal charges in connection with the case.
