Jackson County Woman Arrested on Drug Charges After Traffic Stop

A Jackson County woman was arrested on drug charges early Tuesday morning following a traffic stop in Scottsboro.

According to the Scottsboro Police Department (SPD), officers conducted a traffic stop at approximately 1:19 a.m. on June 24 in the 2800 block of Veterans Drive. Two individuals were found inside the vehicle and were asked to exit for further investigation.

During the stop, officers reportedly discovered 2.9 grams of synthetic marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Kelsi Elizabeth Carter was arrested at the scene and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was transported to the Jackson County Jail, where she is currently being held on bond.
