The Trenton City Commission met for their October meeting on Monday, October 17th.

At the beginning of the meeting, during the workshop session, a sales pitch was heard by BlueLine Solutions salesman Ryan Moore. The proposal Moore pitched to the City Commission was to install traffic control cameras in front of the school zones. The intent of these cameras would be to capture vehicles traveling with speeds above 35 miles per hour from 7am to 4:30pm in front of Dade County High School. These cameras would then send tickets to the Trenton City Police Department for verification. Once verified, BlueLine Solutions would mail these tickets to the citizen who committed the speed violation, charging over $100 per ticket and pocketing 35% of the imposed fine. These citations would be enforced to be paid within sixty days of being mailed. If the ticket is unpaid during the given time limit upon a second notification, a lien is placed on the citizen’s car’s tag. Trenton City would also be responsible for paying for the electricity these devices would use, at the average cost of a traffic light (if the company is unable to gain solar power). The proposed implementation would be beginning Spring-Summer of 2023. This would be a commitment of 2 years for the City of Trenton.

The contract was approved unanimously.
