Dade County Families:

Dade County Schools (DCS) has been made aware of a nationwide viral threat circulating on the social media
platform, Tik Tok. The viral threat calls on students to commit acts of school violence on December 17, 2021,
however, no specific school or school district has been identified. We are NOT aware of any threats specific
to DCS.
Although it is uncertain where the Tik Tok post originated, DCS has no evidence that the post originated within
our school district. DCS has been in contact with the Dade County Sheriff’s Department, the Trenton Police
Department, and other local law enforcement officials regarding the post. To ensure the safety of our students
and staff, will have additional law enforcement presence within our schools today.
This nationwide viral threat serves as a great example of why individuals should never share social media posts
that promote acts of school violence. Therefore, we ask that our DCS families continue to monitor social
media posts by their children and report any activity that may pose a threat to the appropriate authorities.
The safety of our students and staff will remain top priority, therefore, we appreciate your patience and
understanding as we work with local authorities to create safe learning environments.
Sincerely,
Mr. Josh Ingle,
Superintendent
Dade County School District
