The wait for high school football is over as the Ringgold Tigers open the 2026 season Thursday night with a road matchup against the Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors.
Ringgold will make the short trip to take on LFO in the first regular-season game of the year for both programs. The Tigers and Warriors enter Thursday night’s contest with 0-0 records and an opportunity to begin the new season on a winning note.
Opening night brings plenty of excitement as both teams get their first chance to see how an offseason of preparation translates to regular-season competition. For Ringgold, the Tigers will have the added challenge of beginning the season away from home.
Thursday’s game will also provide an early test for both teams as they look to establish momentum and set the tone for the weeks ahead. With a full season still in front of them, a strong performance in the opener could provide an early confidence boost.
The matchup between the two Catoosa County programs should also draw plenty of attention from local football fans as Ringgold and LFO meet under the lights to officially begin their 2026 campaigns.
Kickoff between the Tigers and Warriors is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 20.
