The 69-year-old posted a video on Instagram, of Lahaina, just hours before it was destroyed. He and his wife Sue were vacationing there and were able to get a flight back to their California home.

The current member of Sammy Hagar's The Circle wrote: “Lucky we got out before everything shut down. Our thoughts and prayers go out to our Maui Ohana… #lovemaui.”

His bandmate, Sammy Hagar, who lived in Maui for over 20 years, posted as well. He wrote, “There are no words to describe the heartbreak that my family and I are feeling for the people of Maui. We remain forever attached to the community.”
