DAVID LEE ROTH PAYS TRIBUTE TO EDDIE VAN HALEN
David Lee Roth has paid tribute to his fallen bandmate Eddie Van Halen by posting a new song for the late-guitarist. Blabbermouth reported that Roth shared the tune “Somewhere Over The Rainbow Bar And Grill” on YouTube, with the clip featuring one of Roth's drawings that includes the message: “Hey Ed – I'm gonna miss ya. See you on the other side.”
The track, which features guitarist John 5, was recorded around 2014 for an unreleased David Lee Roth project. (Blabbermouth)
WOLFGANG VAN HALEN LASHES OUT AT US MAGAZINE
Wolfgang Van Halen is once again striking back online after US magazine ran a piece on his parents' marriage. According to US, in its new issue, mom Valerie Bertinelli revealed the “secrets” to the couple's 26-year marriage, which split apart back in 2002. Wolfgang tweeted: “F*** this, and f*** you @usweekly. The only thing printed in this piece of toilet paper that's true is that we all loved my father. This is not a new interview. My mother did not speak to them for this. That is all.”
He went on to explain in another tweet, “I know what a lot of you are going to say. 'Just ignore it, bro!' I’m not going to stand by and let people publish lies and make my family’s tragedy someone else’s entertainment.” (ToneDeaf)
SAMMY HAGAR POSTS VINTAGE SHOT WITH EDDIE VAN HALEN
Sammy Hagar, who revealed that he and Eddie Van Halen had renewed their friendship earlier this year, posted a 1988 photo of the pair during happier times. The photo shows both guitarists holding each other's custom Kramer guitar, with Hagar writing, “Throwback to 1988. Eddie and I holding each other's guitars. That was Frankenstein and he had my model he had made for me from Kramer. #MissYouBud #OU812 #Backstage”
