Sting Set For New Year’s TV Appearance, Rolls Out New Vegas & Philly Dates

Sting will perform with Shirazee on NBC's New Year's Eve 2021, which will be hosted by Carson Daly. The broadcast airs live from Times Square on Thursday, December 31st from 10 to 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. (ET/PT). Other performers include Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Busta Rhymes ft. Anderson, Goo Goo Dolls, Kylie Minogue, and Pentatonix, among others.

Sting has rescheduled his upcoming "My Songs" Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace, with the new spring dates dates set for May 7th, 8th, 12th, 14th, 15th, 19th, 21st, and 22nd.

He's also rolled out revised Philadelphia dates hitting The Met Philadelphia on September 7th and 8th, 2021. Sting's son, Joe Sumner will serve as the opener.

The upcoming Vegas production, titled My Songs, "will present a compendium of Sting’s songs with dynamic, visual references to some of his most iconic videos and inspirations."

Earlier this year, Sting appeared on Billboard's podcast Pop Shop and explained how the upcoming residency will differ from his Vegas shows in the past: ["Y'know, I've played Vegas many, many times over the years. Coming in for one night to play in the various entertainment venues. This will actually be the first time I have my own 'room' that's dedicated to me and telling my story through songs. So, I won't be changing a gown every song — but there is an opportunity to make a more theatrical show than I normally would. I normally just rely on good lights, (a) great band, and songs. I think Caesars Palace is a great room and I'll be telling my story through songs."] SOUNDCUE (:31 OC. . . story through songs)

Just released is Sting's Duets collection. The album, which also features the former-Police leader's instrumental collaborations, features Sting's teamups with the likes of Mary J. Blige, Herbie Hancock, Eric Clapton, Annie Lennox, Charles Aznavour, Mylène Farmer, Shaggy, Melody Gardot, Gashi and more.
