Staind To Release New Album On Friday

Out Friday, Sept. 22 is Staind's Confessions of the Fallen, the first new album from the band in 12 years. The 10-song set was produced by Erik Ron (Godsmack, Panic! at the Disco, Black Veil Bridges) and started during the pandemic, with frontman Aaron Lewis building songs from ideas sent by guitarist Mike Mushok. Lewis tells us that, burned out from the dark confessionalism of Staind's previous songs, he felt a need to put the band aside while he focused on his solo career as a country artist but gradually embraced the idea of making new music with the band:

“I don't know if there was ever a right or a wrong time, really. It just, it helped, uh, it helped expose the right time, I guess, just in its nature way of coming together and becoming an album.” :24 (OC: becoming an album)

“Confessions of the Fallen” was preceded by the singles “Lowest in Me,” which hit No. 1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, and “Here and Now.” The group also filmed a video for “Lowest in Me.”

The album is Staind's first studio set since a self-titled outing in 2011, though it released the “Live: It's Been Awhile” concert album during 2021.

Staind is currently off the road after touring with Godsmack during the summer but expects to announce more dates soon.

Lewis, meanwhile, begins a solo tour on September 28th in Indiana, Pa., with dates booked into mid-December.
