More than 65 hours of recently discovered footage of Blood, Sweat & Tears is being produced into a documentary. Following their 1969 appearance at Woodstock, the Grammy award winning band went on a U.S. State Department sponsored tour that took them behind the communist-controlled Iron Curtain. All of it was documented, but never released.

During that year, they had hits with “You’ve Made Me So Very Happy,” “And When I Die,” as well as “Spinning Wheel.” The film will examine how the band got caught up in government politics – that ultimately involved the FBI and CIA.

The documentary… called What the Hell Happened to Blood, Sweat & Tears? is expected to be released in 2022.
