    Central and northern Alabama, Extreme northwest and west central Georgia
    EFFECTIVE
    This Monday afternoon and evening from 400 PM until 1000 PM CDT.
    THREATS
    Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible, Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible, A tornado or two possible
    SITUATION
    Clusters of storms will spread eastward from Mississippi into Alabama through late evening, and eventually reach northwest Georgia. Storm mode will be complicated with a mix of clusters and some embedded supercells with attendant threats of occasional wind damage, large hail, and a tornado or two. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 70 statute miles north and south of a line from 55 miles southwest of Muscle Shoals AL to 45 miles east northeast of Anniston AL.     PRECAUTIONS
    A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce tornadoes.

  • Elvis Costello has posted the fourth new song from his upcoming Hey Clockface album, which drops on October 30th. "Hey Clockface/How Can You Face Me" features Costello backed in a 1930's-styled jazz-based romp — which judging from the previous other tracks, may just add up to Costello's most unique sounding album in decades.

     

  • Out today (September 11th) is the Stray Cats' new live album culled from their 2019 40th anniversary reunion tour. The 23-track collection, Rocked This Town: From LA To London, includes such Stray Cats classics as "Rock This Town," "Built For Speed, " "Stray Cat Strut," "Rumble In Brighton, "Runaway Boys," and "(She's) Sexy + 17," among others.
