Heart guitarist Nancy Wilson is making tour plans without her duo sister, Ann Wilson. She’ll be touring with Styx this fall.
Kimberly Nichole, a Seattle native and a Season 8 finalist of The Voice will be stepping in to sing. She performed on Broadway in 2018 for a limited engagement of Rocktopia and most recently sang on stage with Nancy during her shows with Styx in Vegas.
Nancy Wilson told Blabbermouth.com that Heart had a touring offer last year and the sisters couldn’t agree on a band. Nancy wanted to bring the band they had used before and Ann wanted a new band that Nancy didn’t know. So they didn’t tour at all.
Nancy said, “I don't really know them and don't have loyalty yet for anybody like that. So I just kind of shined it on and decided when I do go out with my new singer, Kimberly, I can telegraph to the people coming to the show that they're gonna hear Heart songs in a whole different way than ever expected.”
Nancy Wilson’s Heart will feature several of her longtime collaborators, including guitarist Ryan Waters, drummer Ben Smith, bassist Andy Stoller, and keyboardist Dan Walker.
The tour with Styx is expected to start in September or October.
Nancy’s most recent album came out last year and Ann will release a new album in April.
