Jon Bon Jovi & Jennifer Nettles Announce Duet Version Of ‘Do What You Can’

Bon Jovi and Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles have reunited for a duet version of "Do What You Can," which will be released on Friday, September 18th. Nettles and the band first joined forces back in 2006 for the Grammy Award-winning Country chart-topper, "Who Says You Can't Go Home."

Fast forward to 2020, when Jon Bon Jovi and Jennifer Nettles took to social media to talk about the new collaboration, which drops on Friday: ["(Jon Bon Jovi): I was thinking of you, because I was thinking of the days when we did 'You Can't Go Home'. . . (Jennifer Nettles): So much fun. (Bon Jovi): It was fun, and it was life-changing for us, and y'know, it was. .  (Nettles): Me too. (Bon Jovi): . . . a Number One song, and you and I got a Grammy out of the deal and (laughs) — that was the band's first Number One country single, which was a big deal. And I thought with this song — what a way to broaden its appeal, would be to have you on it again and we. . . y'know, we were magic the first time."] SOUNDCUE (:30 OC: . . . the first time)

Jennifer Nettles went on to explain that the new team up with Bon Jovi is another winning combination: ["I think lightening can strike twice — I think this is definitely a testimony to that. Y'know what I love, too, man, about your writing is so conversational — which, P.S., is perfect for country, okay? (Jon Bon Jovi): (Laughs) (Nettles): Like, country music loves that."] SOUNDCUE (:17 OC: . . . music loves that)
