On March 5th, Jane's Addiction premiered its first new song since 2014, titled, "True Love." The tune came at the end of the night during the band's tour kickoff in Bakersfield, California at Mechanics Bank Arena.
Rolling Stone described it as, "a psych-tinged ballad that builds to an understated peak, with frontman Perry Farrell’s voice reverberating against twinkling guitars, splashy cymbals, and a pensive baseline."
Last year during a chat with Consequence, Perry Farrell was pressed about the band cutting some new music: ["You never know, y'know? You just never know. But what I would love to see — I would love to see us record a couple of tracks this year. Y'know, even if it's two or three tracks. Two tracks. . . I don't know; I feel two is nice. I think people can take two: like two aspirin."] (:16 OC: . . like two aspirin)
Former-Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer is handling guitar duties on the current dates while co-founder Dave Navarro battles long covid.
