Guns N’ Roses have rolled out the rescheduled North American dates for this summer and fall — with Wolfgang Van Halen's band, Mammoth MVH set to open throughout the tour.

Rolling Stone reported the mainly stadium trek, which now has a whopping 14 newly announced stops, kicks off on July 31st in Hershey, Pennsylvania at Hersheypark Stadium and winds down over two nights — October 2nd and 3rd — at Hollywood, Florida's Hard Rock Live Arena.

We asked Duff McKagan a while back why he thinks the music of the original Guns N' Roses lineup was so important when it came out: ["We were just five like-minded guys, who met at the right time, who had pretty much the same idea on how we wanted to portray our music and what we thought a band should be. I suppose, to put a term on it, we were disenfranchised youth. And those songs, eventually, spoke to, I guess, a whole legion of other disenfranchised youth, and it just caught fire."] SOUNDCUE (:24 OC: . . . just caught fire)

Slash told us not long ago that he prefers being in a band to being a "guitar hero" type: ["I'm a band guy. I've been in a band since I was 16 years old, I guess. So I like being in a band, I think that a group of musicians working, interacting together can come up with amazing material and so on and so forth."] SOUNDCUE (:13 OC: . . . and so forth.)

We recently chatted with Wolfgang Van Halen, and he shed light on why he chose to nick Van Halen's pre-fame moniker for his own — and how he always planned on recording his first album: ["All I knew is that from a young age, whenever my dad would tell me the story that Van Halen was called Mammoth before, and it was a three-piece and my father played guitar and sang — I was, like, 'God, the name Mammoth is such a cool name, I wanna name my band that when I grow up.' And then the other half was I really wanted to see if I could play everything myself, like Dave Grohl did on the first Foo Fighter album. And so, it was nice to be on this side of it, and be, like, 'I did it' (laughs)."] SOUNDCUE (:24 OC: . . . I did it)
