Bryan Adams’s German Stadium Show Scrapped Due To Health Concerns

Bryan Adams' socially distanced concert on September 4th at Dusseldorf, Germany's Merkur Spiel-Arena has been postponed by the venue citing health concerns. As we previously reported, the multi-act "Give Live A Chance" concert was set to for 12,000 fans seated about five feet apart and spread across the 54,600-seat stadium.

According to Best Classic Bands, promoter Live Nation had reportedly sold 7,000 tickets before the show was scrapped. The venue issued a statement, explaining, "Despite a comprehensive health, hygiene, and safety program, organizers felt compelled to cancel the event in view of the increasing number of infections and subsequent capacity restrictions that were imposed on the event."

In a statement, Give Live A Chance organizer Marek Lieberberg said, “We are still of the opinion that our measures offered fans, artists and employees comprehensive protection." No new concert date has been announced.

Although Germany had banned all large-scale events through October — the government is allowing select events to take place if they meet "stringent guidelines."
