All signs are pointing that a full-on covers version of Paul McCartney's recent Top Two one-man-band McCartney III album is coming — featuring some of music's most high brow and influential acts. What seems to be artwork for, what seemingly will be called IIImagined, has coincided with some fans that ordered the album via official sites receiving dice in a McCartney III bag, mirroring the album's artwork

The always reliable Beatlefan magazine sent out a blast to fans, which read:

Mentioned so far are "Long Tailed Winter Bird" by Damon Albarn (Gorillaz), “Find My Way” by Beck, “Pretty Boys” by Khruangbin, “Women and Wives” by St. Vincent, “Lavatory Lil” by Josh Homme (Queens Of Stone Age, Kyruss, Them Crooked Vultures), “Deep Deep Feeling” by 3D (Robert del Naja from Massive Attack), “Slidin'” by Ed O'Brien (Radiohead), “The Kiss Of Venus” by Dominic Fike, “Seize The Day” by Phoebe Bridgers (Boygenius, Better Oblivion Community Center), “Deep Down” by Blood Orange and “Winter Bird / When Winter Comes” by Anderson.Paak. No word yet on a release date.

The majority of McCartney III was recorded during the pandemic, which forced the former-Beatle to tie up some music loose ends he had laying around, as well as experiment in the studio.

"Macca" explained that he initially had hit the studio to record some incidental film music he was working on — but those sessions slowly evolved into the latest one-man-band album: ["I was completing songs, just for my own fun, and I wrote some special ones and then I finished ones I had been meaning to finish. And all in all, I suddenly had 11 tracks — all finished, ready to go. So, I thought, well, I don't know what I'd do with this. It's an album, maybe. And then I realized, 'cause I'd played everything on the album; this is Number Three in the trilogy."] SOUNDCUE (:21 OC: . . . in the trilogy)
