Mrs. Bailey was born on August 8, 1944 in Ft. Payne, AL to the late Aubrey Lewis & Lillian Estelle Pell Downer and was a 1962 graduate of Davis High School. She attended the Tiftonia Holiness Church and enjoyed sewing, needlework, traveling & photography. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Elvin & Alfred Downer.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 59 years, Glenn Charles Bailey; son Chuck Bailey (Giorgi Minasovi) of Washington, D.C; sisters, Glenda (Bernard) Peek of Lookout Mountain, GA, Phyllis McClure of Trenton, GA, & Brenda Tinker of Guntersville, AL; several nieces & nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bailey will be held on Friday, December 6th at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Troy Lawson officiating. She will be laid to rest on Monday, December 9th at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at ryanfuneralhome.net.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 5th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton, GA.
