Born on December 16, 1943, in Long Island, Alabama, he was the son of the late Rile and Francis Whitt Smith. Terry proudly served his country for twenty-one years in the United States Marine Corps, where he was a decorated Vietnam veteran. After retiring from military service, he established and operated Terry’s Painting and Home Repair, where he was known for his skill and professionalism.
He was an avid car enthusiast and loved restoring automobiles and selling them to others. He was also a devoted Alabama football fan. His Christian faith played a significant role in his life, and he was a former member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Karen (Corby) Davis of Marion, South Carolina; his sisters, Glenda Woods of Bryant, Alabama, and Joyce Shields of Cartersville, Georgia; and his granddaughter, Shantley (Conner) Lawson. Terry was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob, Jim, and Jerry Smith.
Terry will be laid to rest at Twin City Memorial Gardens in Loris, South Carolina.
Terry Smith will be remembered for his service, dedication, and the love he shared with those around him. His presence will be deeply missed.
