Ruby Gass Cochran Wallin

Ruby Gass Cochran Wallin, age 98, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday August 30, 2026. Ruby was born August 15, 1928, in Trenton, GA to the late Willis and Nettie Mae Gass.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband’s Mickey Cochran and Norman Wallin, sisters Clara Brandon, Lucille Raines, Virginia Beaudoin, and brothers Vernon Gass and Terrell Gass.

Ruby was a homemaker most of her 98 years, she enjoyed crafts such as embroidering, sewing, and art coloring all while listening to her favorite gospel music.

Ruby is survived by her son Jerry Cochran, daughter Sharon Bice, granddaughters Shana Cochran Chuy and Jennifer Bice Brown, grandson Greg Cochran, and sister-in-law Ann Gass; seven great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Ruby’s independence and quick wit, along with her unfiltered comments kept us in stitches and will remain cherished in our memories. She certainly was the light of our life and will be greatly missed.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Tapestry Hospice Team, especially Megan Bradford and Somonia Lewis for their loving compassionate care to both Ruby and the family.

Services celebrating her life well lived will be held at 11 AM Tuesday September 1, 2026, in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home with nephew David Gallegly officiating. She will be laid to rest at Trenton Baptist Cemetery in Trenton, GA. Visitation will be held from 4 PM until 7:30 PM Monday August 31, 2026, and from 10 AM until the service on Tuesday at Ryan Funeral Home and Crematory.
