Mrs. Shaw was a longtime and faithful member of Trenton Ministry Center for more than 58 years. She was lovingly known throughout the community as the “Cake Lady,” famous for her delicious homemade cakes and especially remembered for her beloved chicken and dressing. Lorene had a warm spirit and a servant’s heart, touching many lives through her kindness, generosity, and strong faith.
She was also a familiar face to many in the Trenton community through her work at the .99 Cent Store in Trenton and later at Dollar General in the Gross Shopping Center, where she enjoyed serving and visiting with customers and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Curtis Shaw.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Becky (Paul) Michaels, Kathie (Jason) Pursley, and DeWayne (Chassity) Shaw; grandchildren, Michael Forshee, Kaylee Pursley, Jana Pursley, Landon Forshee, and Ryan Shaw; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and a host of dear friends who will miss her greatly.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Hospice of Chattanooga and the caring nursing staff for the compassion and care shown to Lorene during her final days.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM ET on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home, with Minister Randy Tinker officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM ET, and Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the service hour, at Ryan Funeral Home and Crematory in Trenton, Georgia.
Lorene will be remembered for her faith, her cooking, her kindness, and the love she shared with everyone who knew her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, church family, and the many friends whose lives she touched.
