James Roy Lindsey, 85, of Trenton, GA, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024 in a local health care facility.
Mr. Lindsey was born on February 22, 1939 in Etowah, TN to the late Roy & Inez Lindsey and was a 1956 graduate of Etowah High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Vietnam era. He was a member of American Legion Post #106, was owner of Lindsey Hosiery in Trenton, and was an avid outdoorsman where he loved fishing, hunting, gardening, beekeeping and all animals.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Nancy Lindsey; children, James Roy (Sheryl) Lindsey, Jr., Cleveland, TN, Ginny (Chris) Hughes, Henagar, AL, & Anne Kristine Freeman, Canton, OH; grandchildren, Steven Stroupes, Lindsey Stroupes, Tyler Hughes, Christen Barker, Eric LaMonica, & David Freeman; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Glenna Ann Bowmaster, Morrow, GA; several nieces & nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 16th at 1:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Bro. Dennis Murphy officiating. Military honors will be presented by American Legion Post #106. In lieu of flowers, consider contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
