October 8, 1947 - February 28, 2025
Ida Iola Gaddis, 77, of Trenton, Georgia passed away on February 28, 2025.
She was one of sixteen children, a graduate of Dade County High School and served as Postmaster for the USPS for over forty-one years with a career beginning in Rossville, Georgia and ending in the community of Wildwood, Georgia, and loved every minute of her life’s work.
She was of the Baptist faith and attended Rising Fawn Baptist Church. She enjoyed walking outdoors, Andy Griffith and her dog Ruby. She was a much beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents Tinne and Walter Knight, her brothers Imon Jackson, Ivan and Kenneth “Buddy” Knight and her sisters Ila Mae Hill, Idora Thomas, Ivy Spears, Ima Jean Ausmus and Ivalene Downer.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters MaShon and Myra Gaddis, her sisters Ina Faye Knight and Inez Hartline and her precious grandchildren Joseph, Oscar, William and John Luke Coleman, Lilly Gaddis, and joyous great grandson Nelson Gaddis; also several nieces and nephews.
No words can say how much Momma was loved and will be missed. She sacrificed all for her family with unconditional love and a glad heart. An unfillable void has been left but an even sweeter promise of a glad reunion day in Heaven has been given.
