Elsie Bradford Lawson, born on May 5, 1946 on Lookout Mountain, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was 78.
Elsie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose memory will live on in the hearts of all that knew her. She dedicated much of her life to serving others, working for many years in the Dade County school system as a cafeteria worker. She was known for her warm heart, kind spirit, and unwavering commitment to those she served. Elsie was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Bradford, father, Bill Bradford, sister, Margaret Martin, and son, Phillip Lawson.
She is survived by the love of her life, Adrian “Tom” Lawson, for 63 years, sharing a life full of love, laughter, and devotion. She also leaves behind her children, Jim (Beverly) Lawson, Paula (Randy) Wilkes, & Tony (Melissa) Lawson; she was the proud grandmother to Savanna Wilkes, Andrew (Christen) Wilkes, Matthew (Nikki) Lawson, Ryan (Nikki) Lawson, Joshua Hawkins, Grace Lawson, & Aiden Lawson; Elsie was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Parker Lawson, Casey Lawson, & MJ Wilkes; sister, Betty Fuller; In addition to her immediate family, Elsie is survived by many extended family members and close friends who will deeply miss her presence. Elsie was a constant source of love and strength to her family, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 26th at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Matthew Logan & Rev. Reece Fauscett officiating. Expressions of sympathy may be shared at ryanfuneralhome.net.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour at Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton, GA.
