Dr. Tony L. Richardson, Esq. of Rising Fawn, GA, departed this earthly realm on February 27, 2025, at the age of 46 years and 32 days.
Tony spent many years in Florida where he practiced law as a prosecutor for the Department of Children and Families, and then later as an Adoption and Family Law Attorney. His philosophy was always simple in the practice of law; help those that cannot help themselves. After leaving the practice of law, Tony began his true lifetime ambition of teaching. Tony worked at Dade County Schools as a paraprofessional before obtaining a teaching position in an inter-city school in Chattanooga. Most recently, Tony returned to Dade County High School where he taught United States History. Tony still carried on that ambition of helping those that could not help themselves.
Tony leaves behind his husband and soulmate of 25 years, Rodney Cartwright; their son Titus Cartwright; his Mother, Ellen Richardson of Athens, AL; his in-laws, Ronnie and Carla Cartwright of Rising Fawn; his sister, Tonya Holmberg of Lexington, AL, and a host of many good friends, including his fur babies, Chester, Blondie, Echo, Rosa, and Fancy, including his dog-sis Ginger and his grand-dogs, Ziggy, Doug, and Sammy. Tony was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Richardson of Athens, AL.
Tony’s greatest love was teaching! In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Dade County High School in his honor.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. John Smith officiating. Online condolences may be shared at ryanfuneralhome.net.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour at Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton, GA.
