Christy Lee Wooten
August 21, 1970 - January 11, 2026
Christy Lee Wooten, of Trenton, Georgia, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday January 11, 2026, at the age of 55. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and faithful follower of Christ.

Diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 33, Christy placed her trust in God to carry her through each step of her journey. For 22 years, she faced her battle with grace and an unwavering outlook on life, remaining an inspiration to all who knew her story. Despite the challenges she endured, she continued to share her contagious smile and never lost her deep appreciation for the gift of life, often expressing gratitude for the extra time the Lord had given her.

Christy was born on August 21, 1970, in Montebello, California, and was raised in Apple Valley. After graduating from high school, she moved across the country and first settled in Alabama before eventually building her life in Georgia. She spent many years working in the medical field, most recently serving as a referral clerk with CHI Memorial Family Practice.

A dedicated servant of her faith, Christy devoted many years to children’s ministry. In her quiet moments, she found joy in tending her flower and vegetable gardens; however, nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Greg Wooten; daughter, Sonny Anderson; son, Sam Wooten; and mother, Kathy Williams. She is also survived by her siblings: Rhona Lee, Melisa (Jason) Giles, Eric Casey, Jon Holland, and Miranda (Eric) Franks; her mother-in-law, Betty Wooten; sister-in-law, Regina (Mike) Cloud; and several nieces and nephews.

Christy was preceded in death by her father, William Lee; her stepfather, Billy Williams; and her father-in-law, Lige Wooten, Jr.

When remembering Christy, we are reminded of the words of Scripture: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7) and “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:23).

Funeral services to honor Christy’s life will be held 3PM Tuesday January 13, 2026 in the Ryan Funeral Home Chapel with Robby Dunn and Mike Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Brown’s Gap Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the service time at Ryan Funeral Home and Crematory.
