Carl Ellis Forester, 80, of Trenton, GA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at his home.
Carl was retired from DuPont following 42 years of service and continued working as a carpenter and cattleman for several years afterwards. He attended Edgewood Baptist Church, was a member of the Trenton Masonic Lodge #179 F&AM, the Fraternal Order of the Scottish Rite, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Carl was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves and enjoyed working on his farm and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. In addition to hunting and fishing, Carl had a great interest in local history, and, as a result, took a keen interest in everything John Wayne related. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon & Margaret Williams Forester, brother, Robert Forester, & sister, Barbara Ann Forester.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Joyce Bishop Forester; children, Randy Forester, Tammy (Billy) Gadd, & Tracy (David) Lynn; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; brother, James (Betty) Forester; sister, Linda (Thomas) Maggiore.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 12th at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tom Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by American Legion #106. Online condolences may be shared at ryanfuneralhome.net.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 11th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour at Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton, GA
