    Dangerously cold wind chills ranging from 10 below zero in the north Georgia mountains to the single digits above zero in central Georgia.

    From Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon.
    IMPACTS
    Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezing temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.
Buddy Lebron Hicks
December 20, 1938 - January 28, 2024

Buddy Lebron Hicks, 85, of Wildwood, GA, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024 following a short battle with cancer.

Buddy served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Reserves from 1952 – 1963. His faith and trust in the Lord the last four months of his life saw him through the difficult times. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Earl Hicks, Sr., & Claudia Mae Osborne Hicks, and his brother, Robert Jackson “Jack” Hicks, Jr, (Gaye).

Survivors include JoAnn Hicks; sons,Tony (Vickie), & Michael (Linda); daughter, Darlene (Talmage); sister, Jody (David) Poindexter; brother, William “Bill” Earl Hicks, Jr; grandchildren, Brooke (Kevin) Surrett & Ashley (Zane) Campbell; great-grandchildren, Devin, Makenzie, Mason, Addison, & Leland; his grandchildren & great-grandchildren were the pride of his life and he loved them dearly. He was the best Papaw to them and he was dearly loved by them.

The family would like to thank the staff of Dade Health & Rehab and Tapestry Hospice for the excellent care and compassion they provided Buddy while he was in their care and the compassion they showed at his passing. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Hooker Cemetery in Wildwood, GA with Pastor Mark Brandon of Tiftonia Baptist Church officiating.
