At age 40, Lucille pursued a career in nursing and enrolled in nursing school, eventually becoming a registered nurse. She dedicated herself to the profession from 1987 to 2003, providing compassionate care to countless patients throughout her career.
Lucy had a creative side and found joy in photography. She joined a photography club where her talent shone, often winning first place in club photo contests. Her eye for capturing moments allowed her to create cherished memories for her loved ones.
Lucy is survived by her sons, Richard Vann Jr. and Thomas Vann, as well as her daughters-in-law, Jo Ann Vann and Cindy Vann. She was also a beloved grandmother to April Vann and a great-grandmother to Joslyn Humbred. She is also survived by her sisters, Martha Whited, Ann Trotter, Jean Jenson and brother Douglas Reeves. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Vann, her parents, Harlon and Dorthy Reeves, her sister Wilma Reeves, and brother Woodrow Reeves.
Lucille received her education from Bryant Primary School, Pisgah High School, and Nursing school at Northeast State Community College.
Visitation will be at Ryan Funeral Home, located in Trenton, GA Saturday June 1 from 2 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held on June 2, 2024, at 12:00 EST at the Reeves Cemetery in Bryant, Alabama.
Lucille "Lucy" Bernice Vann will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace.
