The National Weather Service is advising residents to prepare for a period of showers and thunderstorms moving through the area beginning Wednesday night and continuing through Friday evening. In east-central Georgia, rain chances could linger into early Saturday morning.
Forecasters say the most likely rainfall totals will range from 0.75 inches to 1.25 inches across much of the region. However, localized areas could see higher or lower amounts depending on storm intensity and track.
The attached rainfall outlook highlights the reasonable high- and low-end projections for totals during this system.
Residents are encouraged to monitor local forecasts for updates and be prepared for periods of heavy rain, lightning and possible localized ponding on roadways.
