A Dade County Patrol Deputy on Saturday observed a small blue pickup truck traveling at a
high rate of speed on Wells Road. The Deputy ran the displayed tag which returned as a’ Stolen Tag’. A successful traffic stop was conducted
with two male subjects detained for further investigation of the stolen tag.
Upon further investigation, two bags of suspected methamphetamine were recovered in addition to multiple unused baggies believed to be for
the package and distribution of methamphetamine. The vehicle however was not stolen; only the tag that was applied to the vehicle.
Kennedy Marion of Bryant, AL and Adam Chapman of Henegar, AL was subsequently arrested and charged with; Possession of Methamphetamine,
Possession with the intent to distribute, and Theft by bringing stolen property in the state.
Sheriff Ray Cross encourages the Patrol Division to concentrate patrol in high crime/known drug areas in efforts to deter these criminal activities.
