The Trenton City Commission approved their municipal budget for 2025 at Monday night’s meeting, approving the motion for $2,468,688.76.

Mayor Alex Case terms the new budget as a nominal rise of just less than $213,000 compared to last year, reflecting a 4% cost of living adjustment for city employees, overtime and sewer costs.

Trenton’s 2024 budget came in at $2,255,700.00.

Mayor Case says there are a few variables to the budget equation, noting nebulous future library funding and associated health insurance costs.

Nevertheless, the mayor says he looks forward to a bright year ahead with voters sending President-Elect Donald Trump back to the White House, and feels the optimism in the Dade County seat.

“We know we still have lots of other things to do; we’ve got a lot of road projects to get completed, we’re doing that as SPLOST funds become available.  We’re also looking at upgrading our sewer system with grants hopefully”, said Case after Monday’s budget vote.
