TDOT Public Meetings on I-24 Widening Project This Week
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will host two public meetings this week to discuss a major proposal to widen a 10-mile section of Interstate 24 in Hamilton County.
The project would expand I-24 from the I-59 interchange in Dade County, Georgia, to the Highway 27 split in downtown Chattanooga — an area that regularly experiences heavy congestion.
TDOT officials say the work would be completed in three segments and could begin as early as 2027.
