SCOTTSBORO, Ala. — Scottsboro Police have arrested 29-year-old Daniel Victor McCarn following a day-long manhunt in Jackson County. McCarn was taken into custody overnight Saturday after being spotted by a business owner in the 2000 block of Old Larkinsville Road.

Officers with the Scottsboro Police Department, assisted by drone technology equipped with thermal imaging, located McCarn and arrested him without incident. He was transported to the Jackson County Jail, where he is being held on multiple felony charges.

The arrest comes after an intensive search involving multiple law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, U.S. Marshals, ATF, and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

Authorities also provided an update on the condition of the Scottsboro police officer who was shot during a pursuit earlier in the day. Officials say the officer is in stable condition and is expected to recover from non-life-threatening injuries.
