Family, friends, and Dade County residents gathered at the intersection of US HWY 11 and GA HWY 299 on Monday to honor the memory of beloved Sheriff Philip Street.
Street was Sheriff of Dade County for 20 years, spanning from 1984 to 2004.
Street passed last year due to complications from COVID-19. The memorial was designated thanks to legislation proposed to the State by Senator Jeff Mullis in January of this year. Mullis attended and spoke at the ceremony.
