A Sand Mountain man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Jackson County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
The wreck occurred just before 2:30 p.m. on Alabama 78 near Letson Point Drive, approximately three miles north of Hytop. Authorities said a truck driven by Nevan Hall, 22, left the roadway and struck a tree.
Hall was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle was injured and transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment. The extent of the passenger’s injuries has not been released.
The crash remains under investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
