Residents Vote Against Proposed Battery Storage Facility in West Brow

A group of Westbrow residents has voted against a proposed energy storage facility in the West Brow community.

The decision came during a community meeting where neighbors discussed plans for an EPB battery storage site on Griffin Road. After hearing concerns, residents voted to cancel the project.

Several neighbors said they were worried about safety and frustrated they were not informed about the proposal earlier. One resident told the group the project would have directly affected her family, including a child with autism who is sensitive to constant noise.

Community leaders said the facility would have brought in about five hundred dollars a month, but residents said the money was not enough to outweigh their concerns.

Officials say more information is expected from EPB and local leaders about what happens next.
