Recount Leaves Dade County District 1 Commission Results Unchanged
TRENTON, GA — A recount in the Dade County Commission District 1 race has officially concluded with no changes to the vote totals from the May 19, 2026 General Primary Election.
The recount was conducted Wednesday morning at the Dade County Board of Elections Office following a formal recount request filed under Georgia election law.
Following the recount, election officials confirmed the totals remained unchanged. Jane Dixon maintained her narrow two-vote lead over Gene McBryar, with final totals remaining at 467 votes for Dixon and 465 votes for McBryar. Candidate Robby Ryan continued to lead the overall race with 577 votes.
With the recount now complete, the District 1 Commission runoff race is officially set between Jane Dixon and Robby Ryan in the upcoming June 16 General Primary Runoff Election.
Election officials say the recount was conducted in accordance with Georgia election law and State Election Board procedures after certification of the original election results.
The Dade County Board of Elections is continuing preparations for the June runoff election.
