Qualifying Ends for Dade County Offices; Several Candidates Enter Races

Qualifying has officially ended for local offices in Dade County ahead of the upcoming 2026 Georgia Primary Election.

Several candidates qualified this week for county commission and school board seats, with multiple challengers entering the race for District 1 Commissioner.

Qualified Candidates (as of March 6, 2026)

District 1 Commissioner – North Dade

  • Valeria Jane Dixon – Republican

  • Robert A. Ryan – Republican

  • Christopher Wade – Republican

  • Eugene McBryar – Republican

  • Patrick Hickey – Republican

District 2 Commissioner – Sand Mountain

  • Phillip Hartline (Incumbent) – Republican

District 1 School Board – North Dade

  • Julia Fields – Democrat

  • Jason Crisp (Incumbent) – Republican

District 2 School Board – Sand Mountain

  • Jennifer Hartline (Incumbent) – Republican

With qualifying now closed, the races will move forward to the May 19, 2026 General Primary Election, where voters will decide party nominees for each office.

The General Primary Election is scheduled for May 19, with a runoff election set for June 16 if necessary. The General Election will be held November 3rd.

Residents have until April 20 to register to vote for the May primary.
