Political Debate This Tuesday on WKWN, Sponsored by Dade County Republican Party

Find out where the candidates stand as News Radio K-WIN and The Mountain Valley Independent, Dade County’s newspaper at discoverdade.com, bring you the Political Debate for Dade County’s 2022 primary election. News Radio KWN and the Mountain Valley Independent has organized the political debate for the last number of years to help registered voters have a better understanding on the candidates’ stances on the various issues that effect the North Georgia area. You can find the debate streaming live on KWN News Now on Facebook. The debate begins at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, April 26th at the Dade County Public Library; sponsored by the Dade County Republican Party.

Local candidates facing opposition include:

For County Commissioner, District 1; Incumbent Lamar Lowery opposed by Chris Wade

For County Commissioner, District 2; Incumbent Phillip P. Hartline opposed by Patrick Hickey

For State Representative, District 1; Incumbent Mike Cameron opposed by Jackie Harling

For State Senator, District 53 (previously held by Jeff Mullis); Steven M. Henry and Colton Moore.

All local candidates that are participating in Tuesday night’s debate have RSVP’d through the Dade County Republican Party. Those candidates who are without opposition will be given 5 minutes to speak on their political stances. A candidate will also be given 5 minutes to speak if their opposition in the election does not attend the debate. Along with the local candidates, a number of state-level candidates have expressed interest in attending.

Chris Goforth, who has moderated numerous political debates for WKWN over the last several election cycles will once again moderate the debate. Again, tune in on the KWN News Now Facebook page on Tuesday, April 26th at 6:30 PM.
