The Georgia Department of Public Health Northwest Health District announced that its district office in Rome, along with county health departments across northwest Georgia, will be closed on Monday, January 26, due to anticipated hazardous weather conditions.

The closure affects health departments in Bartow, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, Gordon, Haralson, Paulding, Polk, and Walker counties.

Officials said the decision was made out of an abundance of caution to protect the safety of staff and the public as potentially dangerous weather moves through the region. Residents are encouraged to monitor local forecasts and official announcements for updates regarding reopening and the rescheduling of appointments or services.

Additional information will be provided as conditions are evaluated.
