The Georgia state Board of Education met yesterday. It was believed a delay of school start until September 8 was on the agenda for discussion for the entire state, but we are learning that the issue was apparently removed from the agenda and not discussed as a possibility . School opening dates will be left to local school boards to determine.

Dr. Jan Harris said in response “We welcome the opportunity to open school according to our calendar,”. First day of school in Dade county is set for August 7th
