Dade County’s Industrial Development Authority held its scheduled February board meeting on Tuesday, welcoming Larry Moore II as its newest board member. Moore steps in to fill the unexpired term of his father, Larry Moore, Sr. who stepped down earlier this year.
During the meeting, the board elected new officers for this term. Chairman Peter Cervelli announced that he would not stand for re-election and would be moving in coming weeks to be closer to his children; Larry Case also refrained from standing for re-election as Secretary . Cervelli recommended to the board that Evan Stone replace him as Chairman. Dr James Cantrell was elected Secretary, Sharon Moore was re-elected as Vice-Chair and George Williams was elected to a non-voting position of the board.
During the meeting, the I.D.A. voted to allocate $50,396 from it’s construction fund to contribute toward the finishing of Vanguard Drive. This will go toward the project, in order to finish construction before the end of the year, when the grant that had been applied to the project runs out.
