The weather could more than likely be blamed for a house fire in the Piney community Tuesday night.

As storms moved through the Dade County area last night, a call came in just before 8;00 p.m. of an exploding power pole with lines down.

Those first on scene soon reported a house fire at 212 Cherokee Trail. Trenton Fire Department, New Salem Fire, Georgia Forestry, and medics responded to the fire. The house at that location was determined to be abandoned and the fire scene was cleared just before 10:00 p.m.
