Multiple Candidates Qualify for Dade County Commission, School Board Races
Qualifying continues this week in Dade County for the upcoming May 19, 2026 General Primary Election, with several candidates already filing to run for local offices.
As of Thursday, the following candidates have qualified:
District 1 County Commissioner – North Dade

Valeria Jane Dixon – Republican (qualified March 3)

Robby Ryan – Republican (qualified March 5)

Chris Wade – Republican (qualified March 5)
The District 1 seat represents the North Dade area.
District 2 County Commissioner – Sand Mountain

Phillip Hartline (Incumbent) – Republican (qualified March 5)
District 2 School Board – Sand Mountain

Jennifer Hartline (Incumbent) – Republican (qualified March 5)
Candidate qualifying is taking place at the Dade County Administrative Building on Case Avenue in Trenton.
Officials say qualifying will continue through noon on Friday, March 6th.
The General Primary Election is scheduled for May 19, with a runoff election set for June 16 if necessary. The General Election will be held November 3rd.
Residents have until April 20 to register to vote for the May primary.
