Last week, Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Victim Advocates Brittany Bruce, Donna Howell, and Jordan Thomasson attended the 2026 Victim Witness Assistance Program (VWAP) Conference hosted by the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia.

The annual conference provides training, resources, and networking opportunities designed to strengthen victim advocacy services across the state. Sessions focus on best practices, emerging challenges, and strategies to better serve victims navigating the criminal justice system.

Acting District Attorney Deanna Reisman emphasized the importance of continued professional development for those serving victims.

“Our victim advocates are often the first source of guidance and reassurance to individuals navigating some of the most difficult moments of their lives,” Reisman said. “Their compassion, professionalism, and dedication ensure that victims are not only heard, but supported throughout every stage of the legal process. We are grateful for all of our wonderful victim advocates in the District Attorney’s Office, and we appreciate the opportunity to participate in training programs that strengthen their ability to respond to the complex needs of our victims.”

The Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office remains committed to providing high-quality support and advocacy services to victims throughout the circuit.
