Lady Wolverines Sweep Jasper County — Advance to Sweet 16
The Dade County High School Lady Wolverines Softball Team came out strong in the opening round of the Region 7A Division 1 State Playoffs, sweeping Jasper County with back-to-back wins — 8-0 in Game One and 6-3 in Game Two.
With the two-game sweep, the Lady Wolverines advance to the Sweet 16 of the GHSA State Playoffs, continuing an impressive postseason run. The best-of-three series’ “if” game scheduled for Thursday was not needed, as Dade County dominated both games at home with strong hitting, solid pitching, and stellar defense.
Next up, Dade County will face Lamar County in the second round. The Lady Wolverines will be on road for the best-of-three Sweet 16 series on Wednesday, October 22, with Game 1 at 4:00 p.m. and Game 2 at 6:00 p.m. at the DCHS Softball Complex. If a third game is needed, it will be played on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
